Stephanie Perry is a sixth grade teacher at Peres Elementary School in Richmond, CA. Peres Elementary School is located in a high poverty and high crime area of Richmond and was historically a low-performing school. She has been able to experience first hand a school moving out of program improvement. She moved to 6th grade after 6 years as a third grade teacher, inspired to strengthen students' achievement levels before they move into middle school.
Stephanie is trained in culturally responsive teaching and has been trained in efficacy principles for teachers and students, and has been a contractual trainer for the Efficacy Institute. She has many years of experience with English language learners. Stephanie holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix.
Stephanie is passionate about teaching and is a self proclaimed life long learner. She never gets tired of seeing the light bulbs go on in the eyes of her students. In addition to children, she is passionate about instructing and motivating aspiring teachers. Her classroom is open for observations and student teaching. She is also available for mentoring via email or her favorite, coffee chats! :)
